The UK announced sanctions against 15 Sudanese military commanders on October 26 over suspected atrocities, including conflict-related sexual violence. The Foreign Office announcement identifies commanders from the Rapid Support Forces and Sudanese Armed Forces. The measures impose asset freezes and travel bans; the allegations remain the government’s grounds for designation.
Britain also announced £5 million for services supporting survivors of sexual violence and £10 million for humanitarian assistance. The planned support includes health and protection services and water and sanitation work around Tawila and El Obeid.
The UK sanctions register records 15 additions under the Sudan regime dated October 26. A separate international coalition statement calls for civilian protection, humanitarian access and accountability on the first anniversary of the fall of El Fasher. The sanctions and assistance place pressure on commanders alongside support for people affected by the conflict.
