PUNT NEWS is an independent digital newspaper for puntnews.online, focused on Puntland, the Horn of Africa and the wider world.

The newsroom is organized around three permanent editorial sections: Puntland, Horn of Africa and World. Puntland receives the deepest reporting attention. Regional and world coverage is selected for its relevance to readers in Puntland and the Horn.

How we report

We prioritize primary records, named sources and contemporaneous documentation. News reports distinguish verified facts from attributed statements, analysis and uncertainty. External reporting can inform PUNT NEWS work, while original PUNT NEWS journalism remains separately written and sourced.

Languages

PUNT NEWS publishes English and Somali editions. Translations share the same underlying Story ID while carrying their own language-specific Edition IDs and revision history.

Independence

PUNT NEWS is a separate publication and website. It is not part of the Horn of Africa Institute or any other organization.
